Dates

Virtual Classroom

Classes are limited to twelve and meet online once a month, using ilinc.com. This is a live, interactive class; you can see the teachers and hear other participants. You will need an Internet connection and headphones with a microphone attached.

Time Required

Prior to each meeting, participants will read text assignments and watch a video of the associated lecture. (Class videos are usually about an hour and a half) Follow-up assignments take from two to six hours monthly. Some assignments require interaction with a child or a class.

Syllabus and Cost

For specifics on the texts and readings required, see the syllabus here. The cost $995, plus $50 registration fee. The price does not include the required textbooks. There is a discount for staff of Living Wisdom Schools.

Enrolling

To enroll, please complete this registration form. You can mail it, FAX it, or e-mail it back as an attachment. Please call 503 671-9112 to let us know that you are sending the form, and we will confirm its receipt.

If you prefer to pay using PayPal rather than sending a check or using a charge card (or if you are not in the U.S.), you can use this link; however, the registration form is still required.

Other Info

All assignments returned by their due dates receive a personal response. There will be a final, open book, exam. Students who successfully complete the course earn a Certificate of Completion of Education for Life coursework. Additional internships and experience are required to become an Education for Life certified teacher.

Starting an Education for Life School

[What I learned] "…will truly help me build the school I have held dear to my heart and could visualize."
Angie Garcia, Director of Escuela Viva School

The Education for Life system
proves its validity under the
most adverse circumstances. It is practical. It is not a system for the few only—for the
isolated, or the "spiritual":
It is for everybody
.

Children thrive on an experiential approach to values. All they need is the help of a caring, sensitive adult.
